Caszi B.

Caszi B. is a contemporary painter born in 1982 in Adjamé in Ivory Coast. Casimir Balibié Bationo [CasziB.] is from the Lélé ethnic group located in the North-West of Burkina Faso.

After participating in several workshops about painting, life drawing, photography, lighting and motion pictures he attended a 3-year training in contemporary painting, acquiring crucial techniques to the practice of his art. His inspiration and imagination feed on various encounters, from people to arts and intellectual concepts that allow him to maintain his nomadic life, between the multicultural African continent and his forays in Western.

Through colorful tones and rhythms, faces made of shadows, blurs and contrasts, CasziB expresses his vision of an Africa in action, strong of its values and explores the impact and crossing of Western and African cultures.

The central message of his paintings often refers to difficult and harsh subjects such as the place of human being in nature (xenophobia, homelessness) all highlighted by the delicacy, grace and even tenderness with which Caszi implements them.

His deeply particular paintings offer various journeys and everlasting discoveries.
